DataShare is ERIC Systems' answer to the web-based reporting tools offered by our competitors. DataShare gives the client a real SQL Server database, containing only their data, plus a viewing program with screens that look just like those found in the production version of Risk Manager.

What are the advantages of using DataShare?

Cost Effective
Eliminates the need to purchase and maintain expensive hardware, software, and bandwidth to provide remote users with access to your network to view their data within Risk Manager or to print reports. As with Risk Manager, there are no per seat or per user license fees to use or distribute the DataViewer. If a production version of SQL Server isn't maintained at the client site, Microsoft's SQL Server 2005 Express Edition is available for download from Microsoft for free! It can even be installed on a laptop for the ultimate in convenience and portability.

Secure
No external access to your organization's network is needed. Copy DataShare databases to a secure FTP server, then simply send an e-mail to each client that their data is available for download. Smaller databases can be compressed with password protection, then e-mailed

Flexible
Clients have the the option to use of MS Access, Excel, Crystal Reports, or any other ODBC application that's compatible with SQL Server to extract information for analysis, specialized reporting, and/or merging with other data sets.

Customizable
Create and distribute custom Crystal Reports for your clients that can be executed from within the DataViewer module. If you add custom data views or stored procedures to a DataShare data base to respond to a specific client need, they won't be overwritten when you update the database. Extract only the type of data desired by the client.

Simple to use
Elimination of the need for clients to learn how to navigate multiple screens HTML interfaces to download their data then have to import it into their favorite application line by line. Data viewing forms look just like those contained in the production version of Risk Manager, so anyone familiar with Risk Manager can help a client find information about a claim. Even the full functionality of the claim selection grid and financial drill-down on the claim summary form has been included. Database tables have been expressly designed to allow unskilled users retrieve meaningful claim information without having to know all about how databases work.

There's only one extract database to distribute on a mutually agreed schedule to keep the client up-to-date with their latest claim and financial information.

Reliable
The DataShare database and DataViewer reside on your clients local server or workstation, so they're always available, whenever needed. They always work at the speed of their local workstation without having to suffer with a slow Internet connection or delays attributable to a busy web site.

Since the client has possession of their own information, financial or demographic data needed for special projects can be obtained 24/7 without delays or extra costs for custom programming services.

Client data can be quickly and extracted and provided to them on any mutually agreed schedule, even daily, if warranted. The DataShare Scheduling module allows multiple extract definitions to be maintained and executed with just a few mouse clicks.
